IDP made documents an input. External systems and paperwork became actions a flow, and now an agent, can take.

An admin with orders in NetSuite, tickets in Jira and invoices in PDFs. Every integration was a ticket to another team and a wait of weeks; every document was retyped by hand. MuleSoft’s Anypoint Platform could connect all of it, but only in an integration developer’s hands.

Composer, 2021: zero to one
The first integration tool inside the Salesforce UI, built on Anypoint with no prior product to extend: pick a trigger and a system, map fields, test with real data, activate. Flow’s grammar, so an admin knew it on day one.
Flow Integration
Composer became part of Flow Builder: integration flows beside every other flow type, 40+ connectors, a query builder and trigger conditions.
IDP, 2024
Templates for invoices and purchase orders; extraction as a flow step; the same actions exposed to Agentforce.
One grammar
Triggers, connectors, mapping and tests use the same words in all three, and in Flow Builder. Anypoint keeps the hard cases and the governance.
Result
Integration and documents moved from a queue to the admin’s own canvas, and MuleSoft’s story widened from integration to automation.

4.8B MuleSoft transactions a day; customers report 74% lower operational costs. MuleSoft is a Leader in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for iPaaS, its tenth time recognised, and Salesforce a Leader in the 2025 Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Low-Code Application Platforms, the report that covers Flow. Composer opened that second door.
